A smoothie bowl is a fun change to your normal breaky. This one is richly flavoured with coconut, banana and cacao nibs– delicious and nutritious! Slimmingfood and healthyliving!
2 bananas 1 cup coconut milk 1 heaped tablespoons raw cacao nibs 1 tablespoons pure maple syrup/raw honey
Topping suggestions: Get Creative!!! Sliced banana Fresh berries/grapes/strawberrie Raw cacao nibs Peanut butter
Kids will love this recipe also, and you could even get away with serving it to them for dessert. This smoothie bowl really does work best with frozen banana, otherwise it won’t go as thick and creamy.
Peel and freeze bananas overnight. Leave them whole and cut into smaller pieces in the morning (they’ll stick together and become fiddly in the freezer otherwise!).
The next day, remove the bananas from the freezer and chop them up into pieces manageable for your blender. Put in the blender with the coconut milk, cacao nibs and syrup of your choice. Blend for a few minutes, or until well combined.
Scoop or pour the smoothie into a bowl, then top with your favourite toppings.
Tips & suggestions
I like using fresh summer berries to top my smoothie bowls, but feel free to experiment with any fruit you like! (Passionfruit or pomegranate is a good choice!)
